Creating an Account

To make an account, go to prezi.com and click on the get started button in the top right-hand corner.

Scroll slightly until you can see the grey box advertising free accounts to students and teachers. Click learn more and select the Edu Standard account on the next page (see below). Follow the instructions to finish setting up the account.

Tips and Tricks

Keep these tips in mind when creating your Prezi, and don't forget to email Becca if you need any help!

When planning to use images in your Prezi, think about their role in the narrative. Are they examples of a concept? Are they metaphors?

A Prezi about Prezis! Their eight tips are key to creating a clear visual presentation. Consider following their guidelines when planning your group's project.
Why Prezi Makes You Dizzy and How to Fix It
This blog post (by an Italian digital marketing consultant!) outlines some excellent tips for handling the “camera” in Prezi. Keep in mind that the rather rigid guidelines he describes for how to move “the camera” are just that -- guidelines, and not absolute rules. You can break these guidelines (and many directors do!) but if you do, have a good reason.

An Interactive Map of the Library
This is a good example of using a map as a background image you navigate through, though it does suffer from some badly-chosen pans and zooms that move very quickly and in awkward directions. Make sure your frame movements are slow, smooth, and proceed in logical directions.
Heimathafen
Note the careful panning (movement of the frame) to tell the story of a pirate looking for design services, which culminates in a final “shot” that acts as a visual outline of the story.
