Primary Sources

Almost anything can be a primary source, depending on how you are using it. Primary sources are the materials you will analyze and interpret directly. They might be songs, lyrics, music videos, or performances, or they could be newspaper or magazine articles that you examine for evidence of how an artist, work, performance, etc. was received/perceived by an audience (see Find Magazine & News Content page).
