Wellesley College has subscribed to the New York Times online. Access is free for currently-enrolled students, faculty, and staff but registration is required. You must be on campus to register; after registering you can access your New York Times account from anywhere.
I get emails from the New York Times about special discounts. Do I need to reply?
No. You can delete those email messages.
What devices can I use to access nytimes.com?
You can access your nytimes.com account from any web browser or smartphone app.
You cannot use your nytimes.com account with iPad or other tablet apps (although using your tablet's web browser will work.)
I am still receiving a message about reaching the limit of free articles.
Please see these instructions from the New York Times.
How long will my registration last?
Users must re-register every 180 days.
What content can I access?
The license gives Wellesley users access to nearly all New York Times online content. The only specific content that is not accessible is the crossword puzzle.
Additionally, access to archived articles within the date range 1923-1980 is limited. Please use New York Times Historical 1850-2010 for full historical access.
Can I share my login information with anyone?
No. Sharing your login with those who are not current faculty, faculty emeritae/i, staff, or students is a violation of the College's Acceptable Use Policy.
