Welcome! Use this tool to filter hundreds of databases and websites full of sources for your project.

Your new best friend is this tool:

Just click it, then hit "add condition" to start! Keep adding conditions to narrow your search further.

Here, I've asked the database for 20th Century data from East Asia on Economics or Education.

You can combine any filter, like place, time, and topic. Try using more than one topic or place at a time to expand your search!

Here, I want quantitative U.S. trade data. I included trade as a search term in the Overview, then limited for location and type of source.

You can use free text to browse by event, people, or topic and combine that with any filter, including what type of data you want like qualitative, quantitative, textual, and more.

Do you want to search all fields, or cells, in the database? Use the magnifying glass symbol in the top right corner of the database to search some key terms:

Tips and Tricks

Stuck? That's what I'm here for! Email me or make an appointment with me today.

1. Try searching the overviews for specific topics, places, and events.

The overviews are written with your interests in mind.

Yes, there is a filter for Economics, but try typing in trade to get more targeted results!

There won't always be a result for your term, but give it a shot.

2. Add conditions if you have too many results,
remove them if you have too few.

Not every filter combo will get you results. If you have too few (or none at all!), try removing one or more.
3. Try again! Did tariffs only get you one result? Try imports! Or trade! Or economics!
Always go through synonyms and related terms to find more sources.
