From a topic (method shown in class)
- Go to Web of Science (link above)
- Under Timespan select "Last 5 Years"
- Enter your desired topic (e.g. ocean acidification)
- Sort your results by "Times Cited -- Highest to Lowest"
From a news article describing a research article
- Look for clues in the news article (authors, journal name)
- Go to Web of Science (link above)
- Enter the author's name in box and change drop down to "Author"
- Add another search box by clicking "Add Another Field"
- Enter the journal name in box and change drop down to "Publication Name"
- Search
- Look at abstracts and dates to make sure you found the correct article
