Digital Collections creates, preserves, and provides access to digital versions of the library's unique holdings, in support of the educational mission of the College.
We provide access to digitized collections from Archives and Special Collections, in addition to student and faculty scholarship. Collections include rare manuscripts and objects from Special Collections, as well as photographs, newspapers, yearbooks and other documents pertaining to the history of the college from Archives.
The Distinctive Digital Collections working group oversees the collection development for unique library holdings, manages the many access points such as the Digital Repository and Image Collections on JStor, and establishes best practices for digitization, metadata creation, storage, and preservation. Digitization is often a method of preservation for fragile items, or at-risk formats like audio and video. We are committed to the long-term digital preservation of our digital assets.
