Zines!: Zine Events @ Wellesley

MENTAL HEALTH - APRIL 2013

Zine Workshop - In conjunction with the Charlotte Perkins Gilman/Yellow Wallpaper traveling exhibit, Clapp Library hosted a zine workshop in the Library Lecture Room on April 25, 2013 from 5:30-7pm. We looked at some mental health zines, talked about how zines are instruments for processing, sharing and informing people about emotional/mental health and illness, and made a zine together.

POC ZINE PROJECT AT WELLESLEY, SEPT. 2012

In September, 2012, the People of Color Zine Project visited Wellesley. Panelists discussed their experiences making zines, shared histories of POC zine-making, and talked about participating in punk, riot grrrl and other scenes. 

FEMINIST ZINE FAIR, MARCH, 2012

On March 15, 2012 the student org Feminists for Reproductive Justice hosted a Feminist Zine Fair in Clapp Library. Participants learned how to make zines, read zines by fellow students, and wrote poems on one of the library's typewriters. Students from the Sustainability Coop, Sexual Health Educators, the Wellesley Review, and Feminists for Reproductive Justice tabled at the event.
