Ask yourself about these 5 items to evaluate a source's usefulness for your purposes.

  1. Currency: how timely is the information?
  2. Relevance: how important is the source for your research needs?
  3. Authority: who is the source of the information?
  4. Accuracy: how reliable, truthful, or correct is the source?
  5. Purpose: why does the source exist?
