PEAC 104: Introduction to the Study of Conflict, Justice, & Peace: Home and Starting Points

Evaluating Sources of Information

Questions to ask of everything you read, hear, or view:

  • Who wrote this? What are their qualifications to write on this subject?
  • Who published this? If online, who owns this website? Who funds them?
  • What point of view is the author putting forth? Do you detect bias?
  • Does the author present evidence in support of their claims?
  • Can you fact-check their claims?
  • Do they cite their sources? Are the sources credible?
