Interlibrary Loan (ILL): Search WorldCat

A Guide to Interlibrary Loan Services at Wellesley.

How to Search WorldCat and place an ILL request

 

Perform a search in WorldCat  (using title, author, or keywords).

 

Your search results will be sorted by Best Match (from the drop down menu on the right) and will show holdings for Libraries Worldwide (the box on the left).  These may be changed by selecting from the drop down menu or checking the Wellesley box.

Find and click to open the item you want to request from the list of results.  Click the Request Item Through ILL button.

The ILL account login page will open.

 

Enter your username and password.

 

 

 

 

 

WorldCat will auto-fill the Book, Media or Score Request form with the citation information.  Click the Submit button to place the request.

Once submitted, you'll see the following message. 

 

 

 

 

 

When your request is available, you will receive an email and it will be held at the Clapp Service Desk for you to pick up.

Search and request through this catalog of materials published worldwide. Boston Library Consortium partners are listed first to allow the fastest delivery possible. WorldCat requests are processed through your ILL account.

What is the Boston Library Consortium (BLC)?

Wellesley is one of 17 libraries that are members of the Boston Library Consortium (BLC). The other members are BC, BU, Brandeis, Northeastern, State Library of MA, Tufts, UConn, UMass (Amherst, Boston, Dartmouth, Lowell, Medical School), UNH, University of Rhode Island and Williams. This group provides expedited shipping (within 3 business days) for loans.  

Where to pick-up & Return ILL Requests

All loans are picked up at the Clapp Service Desk and are the users responsibility.  

Loans may be returned at the service desks in the Art, Clapp, Music or Science libraries.   

They must be returned in the condition they were borrowed (no markings, highlighting, etc).  Loans returned damaged are subject to a replacement fee
